Music

Choir

Started by some congregants who enjoyed getting together to sing, the CCI Choir enhances Shabbat Services several times during the year in addition to High Holiday Services. The choir has a part-time director (from the UGA School of Music). If you like to sing and would like to become involved, please contact our Temple office!

Shira Chadasha, or ‘The Ensemble’

Shira Chadasha, “a new song” is an ensemble of congregants who come from all walks of life and are united in expressing their passion for Judaism by joining together to make prayerful music to enhance Shabbat services. They sing a variety of both modern and traditional melodies, and take most selections from such modern Jewish composers as Debbie Friedman, Rick Recht, and Craig Taubman. They encourage congregation to join in non-traditional song to enhance the ruach (spirit) of the worship service with their voices, guitars and percussion instruments. If you are interested in joining Shira Chadasha, contact the Temple Office.
